Limak Construction has Completed The Excavation of Gali-Zakho Tunnel Which Will Connect Northern Iraq and Turkey

The Gali-Zakho Tunnel, which Limak Construction began construction in June 2013, will ensure safer and more comfortable transport on the trade route between Turkey and Kurdistan Regional Government.

The ceremony held on 30th Octoberwith the participation ofKurdistan Regional Government Minister of Housing and ReconstructionDarbaz Kosrat Rasul, 23rd Period Turkish Deputy Cemal Kaya and Vice Chairman of Limak Holding Sezai Bacaksız.

Gali-Zakho Tunnel Project involves design and construction of a dual carriageway road with two lanes on each carriageway on the route linking Duhok to Zakho in the provincial territories of Duhok. The tunnel shall consist of two individual tubes with a total length of 3.600 m. With 273 Turkish and 58 local staff, the tunnel is expected to be completed in 2015.
