Within the scope of this project, which was designed for the irrigation of the Baklan Plain located on the right and left sides of the Büyük Menderes River between the province of Denizli and the district of Çal in Western Anatolia; irrigation of 26,000 hectares of land is planned.
The BR2 pumping station, the 26 km-long BR2 and BR3 main canals and the 923 m-long access canal, as well as the 270 km-long flume within the underground water irrigation field and the Irgıllı rehabilitation area were constructed and assembled under the Baklan Plain 4th Section Main Canal and Network Constructions Project.
Within the scope of the main canal construction, the construction works of an area of 6.000 hectares were completed and opened to irrigation.
With regard to network construction works, on the other hand, construction of the BL2 pumping station, the BL2 main canal (52 km), the 360 km flume and the BR2 and BR3 main canals in the BL2 main canal irrigation field, as well as the 200 km HDPE and CTP pipes in various diameters within the irrigation field have been completed.
Irrigated agriculture started in the fields opened to irrigation within the completed sections of the project and the resulting increase of income has significantly contributed to the nation’s economy.
